SWATCHES - Rimmel Scandaleyes Liner in Nude
Unless you have been trapped in a cave for the last few months, it's unlikely you haven't heard everyone banging on about the Rimmel Scanaleyes Waterproof Kohl eyeliners, especially the one in Nude.
Fleurdeforce constantly features it in her YouTube favourites, and I can see why.
I've never been a fan of the white liner on the waterline look, it doesn't matter if you're as pale as me or even more so, this is never a good look as it always too harsh and obvious.
Cue nude eyeliners.
I was sad to miss out when MAC featured a pro product in a limited edition collection some time ago. Their chromographic pencil in NC15/NW20. Even more annoyed when everyone and their aunt featured it in their tutorials, but I couldn't get my mitts on it.
So I have been on the hunt on and off for the perfect nude eyeliner for my waterline for forever.
I know there are plenty out there (Stila Topaz, NARS Rue Bonaparte, Givency, Chanel etc), but lets be frank here, I don't see the point in spending a small fortune on something that is barely visible.
ASOS.com have had the Scandaleyes pencils on their website for ages, but never in Nude (grrr).
But then, one day, just by chance I noticed they had started stocking it.
It's beautiful.
With a matte yet creamy texture (no sparkle or shimmer here), it is insanely high quality for the mere £3.99 that it costs.
I was once obsessed with Urban Decay 24/7 pencils for their creaminess and longevity, but they soon got surpassed by Greek brand Erre Due whose waterproof liners are a fraction of the cost and just as high quality. But I can say that hands down, this is the creamiest smoothest eyeliner I have ever come across.
It is the absolute first eyeliner EVER that I have managed to wear on my waterline with no discomfort whatsoever. As a contact lens wearer, I normally only wear liner on my waterline for special occasions, because they aggravate me so much.
I wore this liner yesterday all day with no problems at all, and at the end of the day it still looked as good as when I applied it.
It's nude, so obviously you barely even see it, but it just evens out and removes any redness you may have on your waterline leaving you looking fresh and wide awake in a natural way.
For me personally (NW20), it is such a great shade, that I have even used it to conceal blemishes, and because it's waterproof I know it's not going anywhere.
Currently, Rimmel make this liner in 7 shades:
Black
Silver
Bright Blue
Bronze
Nude
Taupe
Purple
I think Rimmel have really upped their game with products lately, and this is no exception.
They really need to compete with UD on these and bring out more shades (greens, browns, burgundy, navy, golds etc).
Rimmel, if you can make these and your Scandaleyes shadow pencils so creamy and smooth, any chance of bringing out concealer pencils to rival Urban Decays????
